OUR PHILOSOPHY

It all starts with love and devotion. Your wedding dress is an expression of who you are, and it's probably the most meaningful item of clothing you'll ever wear. And because of this, we pour our hearts into every dress we create. We feel a bond with our brides, and we are so grateful to be a part of these truly beautiful moments of love.

The Finest Fabrics

Our embroideries, laces, silks and trimmings are sourced from renowned European couture houses who are celebrated for their exceptional artistry and craftsmanship. Claire sketches her ideas and carefully selects the threads, flowers and motifs that go into these exclusive textiles - each dress is truly a work of art.

Los Angeles Atelier

The collection is made in-house in the designer’s Los Angeles Atelier known as The Castle. A historic landmark built in the 1920’s, this enchanting space serves as the ultimate destination where brides from all over the world find “the one”. Since each gown is made to order, fit and design details are customized to suit each bride. Voted LA’s best bridal salon, Claire and her dedicated team can’t wait to welcome you here!

A Love Story

The daughter of artist parents, Claire followed her own creative path by studying fashion at Otis Parsons School of Design, and began her career designing lingerie. A few years later, Claire met her future husband Guy Toley, and the pair began dreaming of starting a business together while planning their wedding. Those first years were a whirlwind for the young couple as they launched the Claire Pettibone brand in 1994 as a start-up from their living room. The collection quickly became a worldwide success, and they moved production out of their house into a fairy-tale-come-true atelier in Los Angeles. They've since became a family of three, (plus a sweet rescue dog and a grumpy orange cat) and their love story continues...

The Atelier

Our Collection is crafted right here in our Los Angeles Atelier by our dedicated, and extremely skilled team. The fabrics are created by the world’s finest couture embroidery and lace houses exclusively for Claire. She hand-sketches her ideas and carefully selects the threads, flowers, embroideries and laces that go into every design – each dress is truly, a work of art.
